Guard Narrowing

Stage one of finding a bodyguard is underway. I have actually quite a few people applying, but I have no idea how to narrow them down. My two options currently are run them through something similar to speed dating. They have three minutes to tell me why I should hire them. Or, I have each of them bodyguard me for a day and stage something to happen that they have to react to. Whoever reacts the best gets the spot.

On the one hand, the second option is more useful to see their efficiency, but it's expensive. The first one's cheap, but if they just talk big, I could be fooled over.

Min-min has plenty of ideas, but all of them are useless, so I've resorted to ignoring her. She finds this all too amusing. I still feel like yakuza or something.

Let me spend 5 minutes with them. That'll solve it.

Second option looks good ta me. Mostly cause I got time ta kill an need some cash. Ya go with that, look me up.

That would be sufficient. If it wouldn't be a trouble....

Hmm, I might take you up on that, Akutsu-san. Thank you for the offer.

I ain't cheap, just so ya know.

Somehow, I imagined that.

....why didn't you just ask me? I have resources, you know. Especially as I employ several bodyguards, after all.

And I do not feel like yakuza, just for the record.

As much as I appreciate your help, I thought that I should probably do this part myself. They have to put up with me for a long period of time, so they should probably know me a little better.

And you're used to it.

That is true, you do need to make the final decision yourself. However, I only get mine from an elite school, so I don't have to worry about aptitude.

Since you are buying off the rack, as it were, are you going to tell everyone, 'this is my bodyguard,' or will they also be doubling as a butler or personal assistant?

I'm used to feeling like yakuza? I don't think so.

Ahh, that's true, getting from an elite school would help with quality. But I think, the narrowing-down process was pretty entertaining. I got a few laughs out of it.

Since my agent pretty much acts as a personal PA and I definitely am not rich enough to need a butler, he's going to stay as a bodyguard.

No, you're used to having bodyguards! Though, I'm sure you could get used to feeling like Yakuza if you were particularly invested in the world of crime.
